Swedbank group has been named most valuable company in Baltics

RIGA, Oct 18, BNS - Swedbank group four the fourth time has been named the most valuable company in the Baltic states, according to Prudentia and Nasdaq Riga's annual ranking of the Baltic most valuable companies.

This year Swedbank group’s value has been estimated at EUR 2.64 billion, which is by 2 percent lower than last year.

SEB group was ranked second with EUR 1.918 billion value, growing by 24 percent, and Latvian energy company Latvenergo was third with EUR 1.747 billion value, rising 34 percent year-on-year.

Further down the list is Maxima Grupe retailer, Orlen Lietuve oil company, Eesti Energija energy company, Tallink Grupp ferry operation, Lietuvos Energija energy company, Lietuvos Gelezinkeliai railway company and Latvijas Valsts Mezi state-owned forest manager.

Authors of the ranking said that sectors with large consolidated players with business in all three Baltic states, such as banks, are represented in the Baltic Top10. Also energy companies with a large domestic market and competition also in the neighboring markets are represented in the list.
