Chiefs of Latvian, Belarus Border Guards to discuss cooperation

RIGA, Oct 12, BNS - Today and tomorrow Belarus Border Guard chief Anatoly Lappo will visit Latvia to meet with his Latvian counterpart Normunds Garbars, the State Border Guard reported.

During the visit both officials will discuss the situation on the Latvian-Belarus borders, the list of joint events for 2017, and implementation of agreements made during the previous meetings.

Cooperation between the Border Guards of Latvia and Belarus is based on the intergovernmental agreement on Latvian-Belarus border regime signed in 2013 and a protocol on cooperation signed in 2014.
